DREW ESQUIVEL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Rotary Club of Healdsburg Sunrise has established a scholarship fund to honor Drew Esquivel, the son of Andy and Susanne Esquivel and brother to Elisabeth and Emma.  The passing of Drew has been a tremendous loss to his family and the Healdsburg community. The scholarship recognizes outstanding students who exhibit the leadership, scholarship, athletic, service and adventure ideals so evident in Drew’s life.

We are glad to report that we have almost raised $400,000 since 2016!  Although that is quite an accomplishment, we know that we still have a lot of work to do.  Our goal is to build the fund to an endowment level so that only earnings would be used for scholarships in perpetuity.  In 2020 donors have the option to donate to Redwood Empire Food Bank as well.  With wildfires and the pandemic, we want to help address food insecurity in Sonoma County.

Since establishing this scholarship in 2017 24 graduates have received scholarships totaling over $40,000.  Scholarships awarded have increased each year and with your continuing support will continue to increase and be made available for years to come.

If you are interested in other ways to support the scholarship fund, there are events throughout the year that may interest you including:

The next Drew Esquivel Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is scheduled for September 2021 - watch for details.  The 2020 event raised close to $25,000 for the scholarship.  Foursomes scheduled their own tee-times and were treated to fantastic swag bags and the opportunity to bid in an online auction.  Big thanks to the donors and sponsors.
