Elizabeth McKee Gore   Elizabeth Gore addresses

                    Healdsburg Sunrisers

With only hours of preparation, Elizabeth Gore addressed our club in what was one of the most informative and inspiring talks we have had in some time.  The first ever Resident Entrepreneur at the UN Foundation's Global Entrepreneur's Council spoke of the three strategic grassroots efforts she has founded: Nothing But Nets, Girl Up and the Shot@Life global vaccines campaign.
Nothing But Nets provides bed nets for communities in an effort to provide protection against Malaria.  The project is gaining strength with net production training in some areas.
Girl UP gives American girls the opportunity to become global leaders.  Through their efforts, they support UN programs which bring aid to some of the world's hardest-to-reach adolescent girls.  Their Vision Statement expresses the goal for all girls, world wide "to have the opportunity to become educated, healthy, safe, counted and positioned to be the next generation of leaders."
Shot@Life "connects and empowers Americans to champion vaccines as one of the most cost-effective ways to save the lives of children in developing countries.....By encouraging Americans to learn about, advocate for, and donate to vaccines, Shot@Life aims to decrease vaccine-preventable childhood deaths and give every child a shop at a healthy life."
Ms. Gore expressed her gratitude for all the good that Rotary continues to do naming two very dynamic Rotarians that the UN Foundation has partnered with, Ted Turner and Bill Gates.  Let's add the Rotary Club of Healdsburg Sunrise to the group.
